To Paris - and then CP MOM
Paris - You're not the only one who was down about the abortion posting yesterday. I feel I got flamed for trying to be practical. All those posts made me cry too - for what might have been. I'm glad that you're staying. I'm staying too. My psychologist is still on leave, so I can't even really go and talk about it. So is my psychiatrist. At least I can get rid of a little piece of unhappiness by posting here.
CP MOM - being pro-life is very good. Especially when the person is just thinking about having an abortion. Talking them out of it in a positive manner is something we should all strive to do. Unfortunately I don't think that the website you posted is very positive. It just gives hard facts - without thought about the emotions that a person is going through. To someone who has already taken steps however - its just going to make them feel ten times worse. With untreated psychiatric problems, it could push them over the edge and make them commit suicide.
I know that there are many who feel that people who take a life, shouldn't be allowed to live themselves. My opinion is that it is exactly these people who would make the best counsellors to those who haven't taken action yet - a positive step that makes their life worth living.
I won't be posting about this subject again - it hurts too much. Last night was hell. Don't want to go through that again.
