Too many blonde moments
What makes a person intelligent/clever? It it a skill one can improve? Reason Im asking is that I have always been intelligent, I finished school 2 years before I was supposed to, teachers were always going on about how intelligent I was. Now I work in a very challenging work environment and it feels like I have "lost" that intelligence. I mean, I make stupid mistakes, really stupid mistakes. Working with a team of geniuses also doesnt help, I keep on comparing myself against them and then I just see how I dont measure up to "real" intelligence. Sometimes I really feel like a dumb blonde as they need to point out alot of trivial mistakes to me, often and then laugh about it (don't blame them, really). How can it be that in school, I was intelligent, but now Im going backwards. Even my vocab isnt as good as it used to be...and I wont even start with my memory! Im only 23 and should be at the top of my game, but Im so not!
This morning I went in to a meeting, the guy that was supposed to lead the meeting called in sick. I made such a fool of myself, pronouncing things wrong and making really simple comments that the others just kinda stared at me in disbelief of how someone can be so dense.
Ive been taking more care of my body and thus have become more attractive as I entered my 20's, wondering if that might have had a reaction with my mind and the way I think...
Makes one think of that statement..."All beauty and no brains, ugly duckling has intelligence counting in his favor..."
Feel so depressed, dont even want to show my face around work anymore ;(
Sorry, just had to get out of my system and maybe get some feedback in the process...

Sometimes even the mos intelligent of us make misakes anyway, and especially under pressure and stress. Maybe it's more of a marker of intelligence, not that one would make no mistakes ( such people don't exist ) but that one is more skilled at learning from one's mistakes, and thus make new mistakes rather than endlessley repeating the old ones.
And remember, too, you know yourself from the inside, weaknesses and all ; and you're comparing yourself with other bright people who you only know from the outside, while they're hiding all their weaknesses, so of course they can look better. And if they feel they need to point out your mistakes, and laugh about them, then by those acts they prove themselves to be inferior. And of course if they're males picking on their female competition, well, we can guess at their motivations, too, can't we ?
meanwhile, exercise your intelligence --- extra courses, reading interesting but demanding books, crossword puzzles, whatever exercises you.
