Treated badly at work
I work in a corporate company which has diffirent business units, i work in a Business unit which is not a fee earning unit besides accounts and HR. My problem is i feel like i am not liked i have been here for 2 yrs and no one seams to want to actually have a conversation with me, i greet and am always very helpful its just that i feel so unwanted here at work even though i get praised by my boss but honestly i feel lonely i just wish someone would actually walk into my office and have a conversation with me. I have wanted so many times to actually say to "these" people what have i done wrong to be treated like this, i know you come to work to earn a living but surely its nice to have some friends, what do i do mind my own business and stop worrying about how others treat me?
I agree with the idea of looking for sustaining friendships outside of the office. Sometimes, when we are good at being helpful, people appreciate that, but overlook the fact that you might hav needs of your own. And, as Purple says, maybe try making the first move towards friendship, more often --- if any single attempt fails to take root, well, you're no worse off than before you tried. And some are bound to succeed. AND try some of the tactics Nina recommends, too
