Why, why, why!!?!?!
Hi,

I'm a guy in my late 20's. I'm fairly goodlooking, sucessful, and have a decent life. There is however one thing thats preventing me from reaching my full potential in life. The fact that i've been battling for the last 15 yrs or more to control my sexual urges. I have very high moral standards and am still a virgin. But this is causing some serious sexual tension for me.... now before u tell me to go 'polish wood' let me explain the crux of the whole matter here.... I use porn as a outlet. This totally goes against my whole being, I know it's wrong, but I cannot help myself.

I go online and surf the net for porn for hours on end at least once or twice a week. I cannot stop myself from doing this. It's always ''I'll stop from next Monday..." but this has been going on for over 15 yrs now and I'd really like to deal with the problem and go over this internet porn addiction once and for all. I've tried so many things, but here I am .... still battling to quit.

It's the very thing I hate, that I do .....

Please help!!!

Ashamed, I don't see anything you need to feel ashamed of. For someone who has no sexual partner, masturbation is the ultimate in safe sex, and causes no harm to anyone at all. Accessing porn a couple of times a week is far from excessive, and I don't see how it harms anyone.
However, it sounds like your fussiness, and maybe some lack of social skills, is delaying your development of deeper and more satsfying relationships with women, thus preventing any logical progression towards marriage. Seeing a counsellor, to help you understand yourself better and gain social skills, to be better able to relate to women and form friendships, would be a really good idea. Then as your social life picks up, you won't have much time for masturbation sessions on the web, and not much need for them, either.
