Bobbys to be a daddy?!!!
Hi guys

Well sprouie looks to be pregnant. I dont know how. I took her to the vet and have to take her back this weekend. Im hoping its just a phantom pregnancy, cos if its not bobby must be the father, but how is that possible when i had him fixed??

And poor sprouie will have to have her babys at the hospital incase her breathing gets bad (asthma).

the vet said she must be 3 or 4 weeks pregnant but bobby was fixed longer ago than that!!

anyone want a bobby kitten??

Males can still be fertile for a while after the procedure is done. Unlike in man, the complete testes are removed when aninmals "get the snip". Some males are rendered infertile by a procedure known as vassectomy where the tubes that carry the sperm are tied off or removed and they then still have testicles but cannot fertilize females. Unfortunately now-and-then the procedure can fail and a vassectomized male may impregnate a female.

Phantom pregnancies are more common in dogs than cats. Your vet will be able to tell you at your next visit if all is well with the foetusses.
