Cat with Kidney Failure

Firstly just want to thank you for your advice. We have a 17 year old Siamese who has recently lost weight, does not have a good appetite (we have tried many different types of food) and had an episode of urinary incontinence last night where she slept. This has never happened before.

From previous experience with another cat with similar symptoms who had to be put to sleep, we are concerned that this could be the same thing. That cat, however, was not incontinent.

We are taking her to the vet, but I would appreciate your input.

Thank you

Dear Karen

Get a diagnoses first and then look at options available to you. Even kidney failure can be managed with treatment and the cat's quality of life can be greatly improved. Ask for a blood test before just putting her down.
