Clipping a young puppies coat in summer
I have a 9 week old Bouvier puppy with a heavy coat. Is it wise to have her coat clipped? Is she too young? Will she be traumatised? When is the right age? How can i help her achieve relief from the heat.
The coat can certainly be clipped, if done carefully by a professional groomer to avoid damage and injury to the skin. Nine weeks is very young, and it might be a good idea to wait a bit longer until the puppy is a bit stronger. Speak to a reliable groomer in your area, to see at what age they normally start clipping his puppies. As an adult, there is not a problem and they actually like it if the coat is clipped short every summer.
