How long does a bitch stay on heat if it's her first time?
Hi there,
Our female Scotty is 8 months old and has started bleeding for the first time. How long does this last and when is she most susceptible to falling pregnant? We are only planning on breeding with her at a later stage. How can we keep other male dogs away from her?

It will ask two to three weeks and she is most likely to fall pregnant during the second and third week. A very high wall and closed doors is the only reliable way to keep the other dogs away!
