Nailbiting
My dachund bites his nails from time to time. Are his nails too long and where can I buy a nailclipper specially for dogs.
This is a daschund and staffie habit and as long as there are no lesions (sores or hairloss) developing, it is normal, not usually as result of long nails. It is rather a form of normal to excessive grooming.
You can get a special nail clipper for dogs from a good petshop, and if the nails are too long, snip the TIPS off. Be careful- if you take off too much it will bleed and hurt the dog!
