Hi,
We have a -|- er spaniel and jack russell. Both adults. We now want to get a Rottweiler puppy to scare off intruders as our current dogs are quite small. What should we do to introduce this puppy to the other dogs and will the leader oif the pack, the jack russel stay the same? Just concerned of any dangers also as i hear rottweilers are dangerous dogs. Thanks

Hi Rotti
Rottweilers are generally not aggressive. It is important to select a pup that comes from non aggressive parents as there is a genetic component to aggression. In addition it is also important to train/instruct/socialise the pup in an enriched environment.
The pup needs to be introduced gradually to determine the interaction of the other dogs. It is very difficult to say if the JRT will stay the leader of the pack as it will largely be determined by there interaction together.
