sick jack russel
I have a 3 year old female jack russel, jessi. A week ago she came into the house, but it seemed as if she was walking on the moon. A very slow movement and her whole body was shaking. i immediately took her to the vet. Her fever was 39.6 and was given an injection for pain and four pain killers and sent home. This strange movement still continued and five days after i took her back to the vet. The temp had come down slightly but 39.4. Vet took x-rays, no obstructions found then took urine test, oh he also did a blood smear no problems there. The urine test showed infected bladder. Blood in urine was found. Can this effect her movement, because my vet does not seem to think so. Has anyone gone through this experience with there dogs. She cannot jump onto the beds and couches like she used to i need to pick her up all the time and everyone knows this is not the nature of a jack russel. Please help!!!

Dear Worried

Sounds like a general joint stiffness caused by a virus/bacteria, not that unusual to see. Some vets stick them on antibiotics straight away but if its the usual virus cause painkillers should help her to fight it on her own. Should be much happier in a week.
