UNEXPLAINED VAGINAL BLEEDING IN YOUNG BITCH
Helga is a 15month old American Staffordshire bitch who has come in season twice. For the last 3 weeks she seems to have excessive vaginal bleeding without any other symptoms. No lack of appetite, loss of energy or fever. It seems to be more a problem for me than her, as I keep her indoors as a watchdog/companion. I will have her spayed as soon as bleeding clears up, vet cannot find any cause.
If the problem is definitely relate to the genital system (and not a problem with bleeding and clotting of the blood system), sterilisation is most likely to resolve this. Specific identification of the problem may need vaginoscopy (evaluation and examination of the upper genital system using special instruments). Since she is under veterinary care, follow your vet's advice.
