Vet doesnt know whats wrong
I am in London at the moment and last night my parents called me from SA and told me that they had to take my dog to the vet. She was going blue and batteling to breath. She was also excreting blood from her rear and mouth. The vet has put her on a drip and morphine. She seems to be getting better. The exray shows the lining of her stomach is gone. The vet has no idea what is wrong? She is staying over another night.
Any idea what it could be? A snake bite or poison?
I cannot give an accurate diagnosis as there are many many possible causes, but this sounds very serious. Not being able to breathe is a medical emergency which, if not rapidly resolved, will be fatal. One will need to do investigations to find the cause and to treat accurately and quickly. If your vet gets stuck you can request referral to a specialist for a second opinion.
