Worm remedies for dogs
A few years ago, when we lived in another town, our vet dosed our dogs with a sheep worm remedy (I think it was panacur) which was much cheaper than dog remedies. I cannot get this remedy in the Co-op anymore as it has been discontinued. Is there another cattle/sheep etc worm remedy which is also effective for dogs, and what would the dosage be?
Ooooohhh, what a minefield of dangers and potential serious toxicities! Please stick to dewormers made for dogs. Some of the cattle/sheep remedies can permanently injure or kill your dog. Panacur was (is) an exception, and we still use it for specific indications. The dog dewormers are so safe and so effective, that it is not necessary to experiment with anything else.
