Dear Emil
According to my handbook on 'Human Nutrition and Dietetics' by Passmore and Eastwood, the average cup of tea contains between 50 and 80 mg of caffeine, while coffee contains between 58 and 168 mg of caffeine. A lot depends on how these beverages are prepared. It stands to reason that tea which is brewed for a long time or slowly percolated coffee will contain more caffeine than instant varieties.
