Beer vs Alcopops
Everyone knows Beer is very fattening. What about other drinks, like Ciders (Savannah/Hunter's Dry) or all these new alcopops (Breezers, Smirnoff Spin, etc).

Dear S
It is the alcohol content in these beverages that piles on the weight: 29 kJ per gram - second only to fat at 37 kJ per gram. Beer supplies about 170 kJ/100 ml, while alcohol-free beer contains only 70 kJ/100 ml - quite a contrast. Cider also has 170 kJ/100 ml, while the cooler-type drinks contain about 200-210 kJ per 100 ml.
