Dear Reader
An adult male doing moderate exercise requires 2 900 kcal a day to maintain weight. The BMR is the number of kcals you require to keep your body processes turning over - breathing, heartbeat, etc - in a resting state, i.e. not even sitting at a desk. It is difficult to calculate how many kcals you would burn on a daily basis as this is determined by your body build, percentage of muscle and fat tissue, etc. You need to reduce your energy intake by about 500 to 800 kcal a day to lose approx. 1 kg per week. Exercise does more than just burn energy, it also increases your BMR for up to 24 hours and helps you to stick to your diet.
Best regards
