cannot lose weight
My blood group is A+. Since I left school in 1992 I've just put on weight, and really am battling to lose it. I've since had two babies. With both my pregnancies I lost weight - after giving birth I weighted less then when I started (but I wasn't sick during both my pregnancies). After giving birth, in about two/three months I just put on so much weight - but not because of over-eating. I even went for a thyroid test, to check - but that came up negative. I've got a really slow metabolism, when I take diet tablets they work for a month and then don't work anymore. Please I'm desperate for some advise........

Dear Char
There are other factors that can prevent you losing weight such as depression, insulin resistance and female hormone imbalances. You may have to ask your dr to check your insulin levels to see if you are not insulin resistant. If you do think that a factor such as depression could be playing a role then you also need to get help from a clinical psychologist. It is essential for anyone with insulin resistance to consult a clinical dietitian, because the correct diet is one of the most important factors in treatment. Check the List of Dietitians on this Website or phone 082-593-0276 or send an e-mail to sscharf@nhcltd.com or look in your local telephone directory or Yellow Pages, to find a dietitian in your area. All in all, it may be a good idea for you to consult a clinical dietitian so that he/she can work out a diet for you that helps you to lose weight.
So go for professional help.
