Dear Reader
Nuts, including cashew nuts, are excellent foods with a high monounsaturated fatty acid content, but they are very high in energy, namely 2402 kJ or 574 cal per 100g. So if you eat 100g then you will be ingesting 26% of the daily energy requirement for an adult woman and 38% of the daily energy requirement if you are on a 6300 kJ slimming diet. Thus you can certainly eat these nuts, but as a 'meal' and not as a snack in addition to all the other foods you eat if you don't want to gain weight.
