Craving sweet things
I am on Sure Slim and lost around 20 kg's - I still need to loos about 15 kg's. I also use antidepressants (Deprovac?) for a chemical imbalance of serotonin. I have constant, uncontrolable cravings for something sweet.
This is not helping with the weight loss! I (mentally) always feel better once I had something sweet. The cravings occur throughout the day (no specific times).

Dear Snoopi
Congratulations for losing those 20 kg - you are a ***star***! Because you have a serotonin imbalance you will crave sweet and carbohydrate foods. Carbohydrates increase the serotonin levels in the brain. The SureSlim diet is too low in carbs for your condition, so I would recommend that you rather have at least 1 portion of carbs with a low glycaemic index (GI) with early meal to prevent these serotonin-dependent cravings. Click on Click on 'Diet' and 'Weight loss' and 'The right approach' and read the articles on the GI. Low-fat, high-fibre, low-GI carbs will not cause weight gain. If you find you are struggling to work out a low-GI diet then please see a clinical dietitian (visit the Association for Dietetics in SA Website at: www.adsa.org.za and click on "Find a Dietitian" to find a dietitian in your area).
Best regards
