i need some help after my son's birth i lost all the extra weight i picked up. But a couple of months down the line iam batting to keep my weight constant iam trying to eat healthy ive started having lighter meals, but i just cant seem to get rid of my sweet tooth ive always had a sweet tooth but it just cant go on i have to have something sweet everyday, ill even have a chocolate for breakfast and after every meal i have to have something sweet. It feels like i have a constant craving for sweet things - could i have a problem with sugar, should i rather have it checked out and would my gp be able to help me. PLEASE HELP.
Dear Vicks
Congratulations on the birth of your son. Your cravings for sugar could be due to a problem with insulin so it is a good idea to have a medical checkup - ask the dr to test your insulin and blood glucose levels. However, it could also just be a learned response, or a lack of carbohydrate in your diet, or a need for 'comfort food' (the latter if you are perhaps feeling depressed). So have the checkup and then we can see what to do about your diet.
Hope you can pinpoint what is causing these cravings.
Best regards
