I just did iron studies and they found out that I have iron deficiency (Anaemic). I have been give Ferrimed to boost it for 3 months. I need to know which foods should I eat to boost my iron as well.

I have been trying to gain weight with no luck, can this be a cause of lack of iron in my blood?

For maximum absorption of iron you need to take your iron supplement and also include folic acid and vitamin C in your diet. You will need to take such a supplement for about 3 months to replenish depleted iron stores. Also eat more meat, fish, egg yolk, iron-fortified cereals and dried fruit to boost your iron stores. Having an iron-fortified breakfast cereal with a glass of orange juice (rich in vit C) at breakfast is a good way to ensure that the iron is more easily absorbed. Your lack of weight gain could be associated with the anaemia, but it is generally due to eating too little all round.
