Does water aid weight loss?
dear doc.

does drinking 2 litres of water a day aid weight loss? what is the most water one is allowed to drink on a hot day? and what is the least amount of water one can drink on a cold day?

i have considered taking CLA for weight loss as i have heard lots of good things about it. is it really ok to take? i also intend to start exercising before i start taking it and i would like to maintain my weight once i have lost weight and stopped taking it.

I would firstly like to wish you a happy New Year. Drinking water in massive quantities may depress the appetite, but it is not a good idea because excessive water intake (exceeding 1-1,5 litres a say) can wash important minerals such as calcium, magnesium, potassium and even sodium out of your system and cause problems. It is advisable to have a FLUID intake of about 2 litres a day no matter what the temperature. There is some research evidence that indicates that CLA may assist weight loss, so you can certainly give it a try. Your plan to start exercising is excellent as exercise is a great aid for weight loss. Keep up the good work.
