HALLS
Can eating a packet of halls every day be bad for health and can it make you pick up weight.
I read on one of your comments to someone that you should not weigh oneself every day but once a week only, what if on that day (say friday) you weigh and you are a kilo up which is just because you had more to drink the night before and your body did not get rid of liquid yet, then you think you have picked up. then you might think you have picked up weight, so is it not better to weigh every day then? What causes the up and down weight every day if you eat the same every day.

Dear Wilma
If eating the packet of halls increases your energy intake to a higher level than the one that keeps your weight constant, then this will cause weight gain. Daily weight fluctuations are caused by many different factors, for example in women changes in hormone levels can increase water retention from day to day and make you weigh more even if you have actually lose some fat. Then there is kidney function and dietary factors (eating more salt will also cause weight gain via water retention) and the so-called diurnal rhythm which can change your weight from morning to evening. It it of course your own choice when and how often you weigh yourself.
