Herbal Tea (Lipton)
Good day,
I drink large amounts of herbal tea. In the morning after gym I find that I feel very thirsty (despite drinking ample water at gym), so between 8am and 1pm I drink about 5 cups of herbal tea with sweetener. In the afternoon I drink between 1 and 2 cups, so in total between 6 and 7 cups a day.
Is this unhealthy? Does it contribute towards my daily water intake? Is the quantity of sweetener harmful considering I use 1 sachet per cup?
Thanks somuch for the help!
Kind regards

Dear Curious
Adults need about 2.5 litres of liquid a day. If you do strenuous exercise or if it is very hot, then you may require more (about 3 L a day). If your cups are standard-sized (250 ml), then 7 x 250 = 1750 ml a day, which means you still need about 3 cups of water or other liquid a day to provide your 2,5 L. The sweetener should not be a problem as these products have been tested and found to be harmless.
