How many CALORIES per day to put 1kg of fat on.
How many calories would I have to eat to put on a kg of fat. I'm female, 26, 1.67, 53kg. Is there a formula. I dont want to increase my fat percentage, I would just like to know how easy or difficult it is to put fat on? I do strength training 3x per week and cardio 2x for an hour high intensity.

Dear Trendy
Theoretically you would have to ingest an additional 30 000 kcal to gain 1 kg of fat. Seeing that your present BMI = 19, which is below the ideal of 22 (you would have to weigh 61 kg to achieve a BMI of 22), it would be a good idea to eat a bit more. As it is just as difficult for slender individuals to gain weight, as to lose it in individuals who are overweight, I have written some articles on this subject. For basic information do a Search on the Health24 Website with 'To gain weight' and read the articles. Fresenius Kabi have a supplement called Fresubin (with or without fibre) that can assist with this problem. Phone Magda on (011) 203-2000 or 083-603-2231 and ask her about this Nutritional Supplement.
Good luck
