hypothyroid - want to loose weight
I HAVE HAD AN UNDERACTIVE THYROID FOR 3 YEARS NOW. MY WEIGHT HAS BEEN UNSTABLE AND FIND IT HARD TO LOOSE WEIGHT. AS SOON AS I LOOSE A KILO, I GAIN TWO. WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST TYPE OF DIET TO FOLLOW. IS THERE A PRODUCT I SHOULD USE? I AM DESPERATE.
Dear Ceckie
I trust that you are receiving appropriate treatment with thyroid hormone (Eltroxin). If not, then ask your gp to subscribe some for you. To lose weight you need to follow a low-fat, high-fibre diet (click on 'Diet' and 'Weight loss' and 'Slimming Diet' for a copy) and to do regular exercise (join Walk for Life or a good gym). The use of appetite suppressants and other slimming pills and potions is not a good idea, esp if you have thyroid problems.
Best regards
