lack of iron
Dear Doc

I have a 6yr old who is growing light patches on his face my gp said it is a lack of iron , i need to find out what foods can i give to him to bring his iron up to a better level ?

Dear Sanan
Red meat, liver, egg yolk, fish, legumes, iron-fortified bread, maize meal and breakfast cereals, and dried fruit are good sources of dietary iron. The iron in vegetables like spinach is actually not very available to humans because it is bound to chemicals that make it difficult to absorb.
