Dear Parent with Teenager
If the child is overweight then she needs to be given a slimming diet and increase the amount of physical exercise she does. It is best to consult a clinical dietitian for the slimming diet because she still need plenty of nutrients to grow. Check the List of Dietitians on this Website or phone 082-593-0276 or send an e-mail to or look in your local telephone directory or Yellow Pages, to find a dietitian in your area. At the age of 12 she should weigh about 48 kg on average. If she is not overweight then she should do targeted exercise to reduce those problem areas, such as the thighs and hips. Ask Fitness Doc for a set of exercises that she can do at home that specifically target these areas, or let her join a gym. Other exercises that help with slimming include, running, jogging, skipping, cycling, swimming and brisk walking.
Hope you get this problem solved.
