Milk
hello! Is milk bad for you? i can't seem to get a straight answer to this simple(or not so simple) question. We have been told by everone to drink milk for strong bones. But now it seem that milk is one of the leading causes of bad bones!! high protien diets and milk consumption causes asteoporosis? Is there a straight answer?
Dear Herman
The straight answer is that milk and dairy products are good for you and are the best source of bioavailable calcium in our diets, thus preventing osteoporosis. The link between high protein intake and calcium loss has to do with eating too much meat, fish, etc, not milk and dairy. The latest research even shows that using fat-free milk and dairy products has a slimming effect!
