One coffee a day
Hi Doc,

What is your opinion about drinking one cup of coffee a day? Will it really have a negative effect on the body (in the long term ) if one only has one cup a day?
I read so many reports about drinking coffee and how bad it is, but I love it and dont think I will give my one-a-day-cuppa up easily.., but yet, because of all these negative write ups I feel "guilty" or like Im doing my body harm when i drink it.
What I put in my body does concern me as I am a very healthy eater (well, 90% of the time)... Will it help if I maybe follow my cuppa with a big glass of water??

Thanks in advance

Dear Shakira
Stop feeling guilty! You can certainly have one cup of coffee a day without doing your body any harm. The trick is to eat and drink a wide variety of healthy foods and then the odd 'transgression' will not make any difference. Don't get me wrong, you could have up to 4 cups of coffee a day without coming to any harm.
