overweight two year old
I have a two year old daughter that weighs 21 kgs,she is also very tall(103 cm).She is very active and has a healthy diet.Is she normal. My partner and i are both of normal weight and 1 doctor said that she is normal because of the height and build of her father. She was 9pd 8oz at birth and has always been big.Should i be worried,as she is much bigger than any kid her age.?She is very headstrong and drinks diluted fruit juice from a bottle any tips on how to stop her bottle feeding. What can i do ?

Dear Aussie
I must admit that the lassie is very heavy (she weighs more than the average 6-year-old) and tall (she is taller than an average 3-year-old) for her age. Did you take her to a Paediatrician? If not, then I would suggest that you so just to make sure that there are no underlying abnormalities. It is always better to eliminate physiological problems, the earlier the better. I gather that she is not very chubby? If she is given a clean bill of health by the Paediatrician and is not too chubby, then just keep an eye on her weight as she grows older and encourage her to be as active as possible. Be careful of excessive energy intake in the form of those fruit juices and other beverages, as this can be a hidden source of many extra kilojoules. To stop a toddler from bottle feeding it may help NOT to replace the teat on the bottle when it wears out. The children soon stop using the bottle if they find that the teat no longer works and leaks all the time. Give it a try.
Best regards
