Dear Jelly
Congratulations on your pregnancy! It is not advisable to go on a strict diet or to do strenuous exercise when you are pregnant. I would advise you to consult a clinical dietitian (visit the Association for Dietetics in SA Website at: www.adsa.org.za and click on "Find a Dietitian" to find a dietitian in your area), so that she/he can work out a diet that either causes moderate weight loss or prevents additional weight gain, but still provides you and the baby with all the nutrients you both need to stay healthy. Click on 'Diet' at the top of this page and then on 'Eating throughout life' and read the articles on pregnancy.
Enjoy your pregnancy
