Re:Best way to prepare crushed wheat
I am trying to work on my regularity and generally de-toxifying my body/liver. I am not so particularly sure I could use crushed wheat on its own. If so, how do I go about preparing it. I have used bulgar wheat and simply soaked it in hot salted water, per instructions on the packet. My crushed wheat packet, sadly, has no instructions on preparation. Thanx in anticipation.

Dear Reader
Crushed wheat is prepared like any other grain (maize meal, rice, samp, etc). Once you have soaked the wheat in hot water and the grains have had a chance to absorb water and swell, you boil the soaked kernels until soft. You may have to add more water if the soaking water has been absorbed by the grain. The usual quantity of water used to cook grains is 1 cup of dry grain plus 2 cups of water. As you wil have soaked the wheat, you may only need to add 1 cup of water per cup of grain - check as the grain boils that it is not about to boil dry and burn.
