Rooibbos tea
Hi Doc

I received a daily tip from Health24, which says that you can prevent feeling hungry early by drinking rooibos tea. Is this true doc, ' cos there is nothing that makes me feel empty like drinking this tea, or is it because I was told before that it increases metabolism. They say it' s all in the mind.

Dear Amo
Rooibos tea does not really suppress the appetite. The idea behind the tipe you mention is that if you have a cup of warm liquid it will fill your stomach and make you feel full which should help to suppress your appetite. This may, however, not work for everyone. If you find that you are suffering from cravings and have an increased appetite, then have low-energy snacks like baby tomatoes, celery or carrot sticks and have a cup of vegetable soup to stop your hunger pangs without piling on the kgs. Chewing sugarless chewing gum can also help.
Hope this helps
