Speed up metabilism

Its been 2-3 years having a problem with my metabolism.I havent done anything about it.I was told when i was in High School that with such a problem i have to see a doctor,but i didnt.
Now i met a friend who goes to the Loo almost each & every meal & i only go once in a month or so.
I need to know what to do or where to go.The only advise that i got was to drink a lot of water & that ive been doing ever since but nothing has changed.

I presume the problem with your metabolism that you refer to, is constipation? Firstly, I would suggest that you do have a medical checkup just to make sure that you do not have an underlying physical problem that prevents bowel movements. If there is no underlying problem, then you need to do the following: a) increase the amount of dietary fibre you eat - eat more fresh and dried fruit, vegetables, wholewheat and brown bread, rice, crushed wheat, hi-bran breakfast cereals and legumes (dry beans, peas and lentils which are rich in dietary fibre) b) drink 3-5 extra cups of water a day - more is not necessary c) start doing regular exercise like brisk walking which stimulates your metabolism - still the best way of stimulating a sluggish metabolism. Don't use harsh laxatives as they will damage the natural bowel movement. You can also buy Bifidoforte or Bifidoflora ('good microorganisms') at health shops - take these probiotics to normalise your bowel flora.
