Hi there,

I play high level squash, and if I have a very heavy match, lets say hour and a half and longer, and i push myself to the limits, I tend to completely upset my tummy. I dont feel hungy afterwards, and i have mild cramps and usually cant sleep that night. Enos tends to settle it, but I feel queezy till the next day. Any advice?
As far as nutrition goes, i usually have some carb drinks before i play, but vary in what i take, so i dont think its that. Tried a banana too.

Both the type of energy drink you use and the exertion can cause tummy upsets. You need to experiment with all the different energy drinks available until you find one that does not cause cramps, etc. The sleep disturbance could also be due to metabolic simulation. You will have to decide if you want to, or can change the time of day when you play squash. If these symptoms persist or occur when you don't play squash then it may be a good idea to have a checkup to see if you don't have gastritis or an ulcer.
