Tiredness and headaches
I am 30 and am always feeling tired. The doctor, after performing all sorts of tests did not find anything wrong with me. Iron and vitamin levels are fine. But I'm taking Iron tablets and Vitamin C ones. I am slim (a size 32). I walk to and from work - 15mins to and another 15mins fro. I'm always feeling very tired and sleepy- and sometimes I suffer from headaches. Will going to the gym help? I have joined one but I never go.

Dear Ruby
Tiredness can be caused by so many different conditions. Lack of sleep is probably one of the most important causes - do you get sufficient sleep and is the sleep you get relaxing and refreshing? If not, then doing regular exercise will help a lot. In addition, the exercise will oxygenate your blood and make you feel less sleepy. I would, therefore, recommend that you do start using your gym membership on a regular basis. Another important factors that should never be neglected, is depression, as this can make you want to sleep all the time. Ask yourself is you may be suffering from depression and if so, do get expert help from a clinical psychologist (ask your dr to refer you or check in the Yellow Pages). Anxiety and stress can also contribute to tiredness. Other conditions which could contribute, are: low thyroid function, low blood sugar and lack of carbohydrates in the diet. If the dr did not test for hypoglycaemia or insulin problems, then you need to ask him/her about these causes too.
Best regards
