Dear Piet
It is not really necessary to take vitamin C in pill form. If you eat foods that are rich in vit C like oranges, grapefruit, pawpaw, spanspek, strawberries and other berries, guavas, Kiwi fruit, broccoli, sweet peppers, chili, cabbage and tomatoes, then you won't need vit C pills. Remember that when you eat fruits and vegetables you are also getting the added benefit of other nutrients not found in the vit C pills (e.g. lycopene in tomatoes, etc). If one also keeps in mind that the Recommended Daily Allowance for vit C is 70 mg per day, then having one orange or 1/2 cup of broccoli will provide double this amount.
