WEIGHT GAIN WITH AN UNDERACTIVE THYROID??
I have just found out from my doctor, after having blood tests that I have an underactive thyroid. He has prescribed medication. What I want to know is what effect is this going to have on my current weight, which is slightly overweight? Will the effects be possible or negative?
Dear Lee
The Eltroxin should help you to either lose some weight or to prevent additional weight gain. To lose weight, you need to eat a low-fat, high-fibre diet (click on 'Diet' and 'Weight loss' and 'Slimming Diet' for a copy), and combine it with regular exercise (brisk walking, running, jogging, skipping, cycling, swimming - anything to get active), which will also stimulate your metabolism.
Good luck
