Weight Loss
Hi, my gf is trying to lose weight but instead she gaind 5kg, im the one trying to gain weight. But how is it possible that she gaind 5kg within 1 week?
Dear Feroz
Is your girlfriend using a low-fat, energy-reduced diet and doing aerobic exercises? If so, it is difficult to say why she has suddenly gained 5 kg, unless the exercise is making her develop muscle tissue which ironically weighs more than fat tissue. Women also can experience large increases of weight due to hormonal changes, so if she continues to gain weight despite eating a low-fat, energy reduced diet and doing aerobic exercises, like running, jogging, skipping, cycling, swimming, rowing or spinning, then I would recommend that she should consult a a clinical dietitian (visit the Association for Dietetics in SA Website at: www.adsa.org.za and click on "Find a Dietitian" to find a dietitian in your area), who will assess what is going on and may prescribe a low-GI diet for her.
Best regards
