WHAT COULD BE THE CAUSE OF PHLEGM AT THE BACK OF MY VOCAL CORDS RESULTING IN LOSS OF VOICE AND PERSISTENT COUGHING?

The cause could vary from a post nasal drip to reflux disease and a multitude of other causes. I suggest you see an ENT to establish a cause as the treatment is different for every case.
