8% normal sperm cells
What does it mean if test results show 8% normal sperm cells. My gyny says that it means infertility but the urologist says that it means nothing?

Dear Vanessa

The 8% morphology must be taken in context of the absolute sperm count itself. If the total sperm count is within the normal range, then the 8% may not be significant and can still be compatible with natural conception. However, if there are other factors such as motility and decreased numbers, then the 8% will be significant and intra-uterine insemination should be considered.
