Femtrace for IVF
Hi doctor,

I'm tarting my very first IVF cycle soon. I have been prescribed Femtrace 0.9 mg, to be taken from this pre-cycle day 21 (in about a week).

In my extensive research on the web, most women have been prescribed Lupron or a variation of that. I haven't come across a signle instance of Femtrace being used as an Estradiol for IVF. Is this an OK procedure? Is it as effective as Lupron etc?

Thanks,
Kams

Dear Kams

It is certainly very, very unusual to utilise a estrogen fron day 21 of your cycle in an IVF program. I would suggest that you call your fertility doctor immediately to discuss the protocol. I am certainly not aware of any protocols where estrogen is used from day21 and cannot understand the rationale behind this.
