Irregular ovulation
I am not ovulating normally since I went of the pill. I have been on progestrone & clomid last year Dec 05. I have had my cycle in Jan, Feb (with the help of Feminon). March & April = no period.
I thought I could be preggies, took a blood test = negative. Going for a scan to confirm.
Is there anything to stabilise my hormones?
How can I become pregnant with irregular ovulation? Is there anything that can be done? How long will it take to return to normal menstruation? PLEASE HELP!

Dear Desperate

In the vast majority of cases spontaneous return to ovulation occurs very soon after stopping the contraceptive pill. Therefore it appears that the problem of ovulation indeed is a matter that requires further investigation. A series of hormonal blood tests would be advisable to determine or exclude the possibility of an underlying hormonal imbalance. Depending on the nature of such an imbalance the appropriate treatment measures may then be instituted, in particular one should be looking at thyroid aswell as prolactin levels and also the possibility of an underlying polycystic ovarian disease should be considered.
