IUI or IVF
What is the difference between the two.
Dear wannabe dad
The important diffence is that in IUI sperm is deposited in the utreine cavity and will fertilise the egg in the natural environment of the fallopian tube. In IVF the eggs are retrieved trans vaginally and the fertilisation occurs in a laboratory situation.
The decision of the two will depend on: 1) Whether the fallopian tubes are patent (open) and
2) Whether the sperm parameters warrant the appropriate treatment.
In cases of severe sperm factor problems it woud be best to opt for IVF.
