Morphology only 1%.... PLEASE ADVISE
Hi there
My husband has the problem that his morphology is only 1% but all the other is perfect.
We are going to the urologist on the 25th of this month. I don't no what to think and do. My gynea said it can be anything for example smoking, drinking and a vein by his testicle. My husband stopped smoking almost 10 months know (has been smoking from the age of 14), he only drinks one or two beers a week (only Fridays) but there is a vein by his testicle (right side). The gynea also said that if he has a vein, they can do a small opp. on him.
Do you think this can be the problem...
I also want to know is there something they can do to help us and whether we must go for IVF or ICSI.
Please would you be so kind as to help us in this matter.
Kind regards,
Pgames

Dear Pgames
Unfortunately a morphology of only 1% is a significant problem and may not always respond very well to urological treatment or supplementation. If a varicocele (vein) is found present then I would advise that a ligation be performed, as this may well enhance other parameters and may prove to be cost effective. However in the short term I would recommend that you proceed with IVF ICSI, as this may be the quickest solution to the problem.
