Dear Anony
Ovarian drilling is a procedure done via a Laparoscopy to treat patients with severe polycystic ovarian syndrome [PCOS]. Patients who have severe PCOS and that have anovulatory cycles and in addition are very resistant to drugs such as Clomiphene Citrate and FSH injections to achieve ovulation would benefit from the surgical procedure of ovarian drilling to help achieve ovulation. As with most surgical procedures however there are risks and the major risk of a procedure such as ovarian drilling would be the development of periovarian adhesion, which means the development of adhesions around the ovary and the tubes.
