Wanting a second baby
I have been battling for more than a year now, but not falling pregnant- I have seen a my doctor who did a scan on day 12 who said everything looks fine I would most probably ovulate around day 14 my uterus lining was 10 mm which he said was fine as well - the problem is I have irregular periods some range from 30 days, and other 31 or 32 days which makes it difficult to determine when I ovulate. Maybe our timing is not right. We had intercourse on day 14,15,17,18.

I was told to take the number of days in my cycle and then subtract 14 and that will most probably be day of ovulation.

My period stated today 17 July when can I expect ovulation by?

Dear Zoe

Thus far the info you have been given is correct. However, it is extremely difficult to predict ovulation correctly in a prospective manner. Therefore, my advise would be to use ovulation monitoring testing kit and start monitoring from day 12 onwards. In your case, it may be necessary to use two kits per menstrual cycle so as to detect the ovulation more accurately. An alternative of course would be to have repetative ultrasound scanning and also a trigger injection for ovulation when the follicle has reached maturity.
