Abs exercise reply-cardio suggestion
Dear doc

thank you for the reply on the 27th - Lower back problem.
You suggested cardio. My problem is, i am very lazy when it gets to exercise, so i started skipping (with a rope). I find it exciting. Will that be relevant for cardio exercise?
I do a 10 minute session everyday just to get a bit fit.

Skipping is incredibly high intensity, which is both a strength and a weakness. It's a strength because high intensity obviously means a greater rate of energy loss, and that's good for weight loss. The problem is that it's so high intensity, you can't really do it for long enough to see big effects. The suggested duration of exercise is about 45 minutes per day, and skipping for 45 minutes, well, that's pretty near impossible.

So while skipping is great, it's great as part of a complete programme that gives you more than just 10 minutes. Therefore, I would suggest you still do it, because you enjoy it and find it exciting, but consider other options too. I realise you aren't so keen, but perhaps if you can find a friend or colleague to exercise with, the enjoyment will return and you'll b able to get the exercise in.
